Moveworks' agentic Reasoning Engine gets GPT-4o upgrade

In early 2024, we launched the Moveworks Copilot, leveraging groundbreaking advances in generative AI to further our mission of eliminating workplace friction. The Copilot harnesses powerful large language models (LLMs) within a redesigned architecture. Our agentic AI approach breaks down complex requests with sophisticated reasoning and planning, then autonomously executes actions across enterprise systems to complete tasks for employees.

Moveworks has been among the first to bring the benefits of the latest models to customers, even as model development has moved at a blistering pace. The Copilot launched with GPT-4 as its primary reasoning and planning model in February of this year. And just weeks after it became generally available, we upgraded to GPT-4 Turbo in March, reaping benefits in performance, speed, and stability.

Moveworks Copilot is now using GPT-4o

We are excited to announce that the Moveworks Copilot now uses GPT-4o, the latest model in OpenAI’s GPT series! GPT-4o can handle the most demanding reasoning and planning tasks, and is the perfect fit for the processing of every user request.

Employees need help in a myriad of ways — there are infinite combinations of needs and how they can be expressed, relevant business rules, and available tools in the enterprise environment. The Moveworks Reasoning Engine, now powered by GPT-4o, mimics human cognition and planning to chart a course of action, adjusting these plans on the fly with minimal guidance from employees to quickly and autonomously get them what they need.

Crucially, GPT-4o also enhances the use of plugins, specialized components that carry out planned actions. Each plugin is built to handle specific use cases and integrate with certain systems. For example, plugins may reset passwords in Okta, provision users in Google Workspace, deploy servers, or pull reports from analytics platforms. The Reasoning Engine, leveraging GPT-4o's capabilities, can invoke combinations of these plugins to automate intricate processes across all the systems you use.

How GPT-4o improves the user experience

GPT-4o provides an improved ability to perform human-like reasoning and produce more natural responses. It’s twice as fast as GPT-4 Turbo for token generation, meaning faster response times. It matches GPT-4 Turbo’s performance on text in English and code, with significant improvement on text in non-English languages, thereby providing superior translation performance.

These capabilities translate into several UX improvements for users:

  • Faster responses: GPT-4o is twice as fast at planning and executing multiple steps, providing noticeably faster response times for every request.
  • Improved use of plugins: GPT-4o improves the Copilot’s efficiency and use of available plugins, making it more likely to try additional avenues before offering a handoff to a user.
  • More concise and relevant responses: GPT-4o improves the conversational experience by being more direct and concise in responses, and better at distilling information from multiple sources.

In addition, GPT-4o offers significantly higher capacity to serve requests across all regions, enabling Moveworks to offer the Copilot experience to millions of users across the globe.

We’re delighted to bring the benefits of GPT-4o to Copilot customers within just a few weeks of the model’s general availability. The Moveworks Copilot with GPT-4o will be progressively rolled out to all customers globally starting August 8, including GovCloud customers. This upgrade is one of many ways we strive to provide the best agentic AI solution for employees and remain at the forefront of generative AI innovation.
